What Should Six Sigma Software Do?:
Although many of the calculations you need to do for a Six Sigma project can be performed in a speadsheet like Microsoft Excel, Six Sigma Software give you a more robust and predictable output. You'll want to ensure that the software is relatively intuitive and easy to use. You'll also want to check to see if it performs the standard statistical analyses needed for Six Sigma, such as basic statistics, defect calculation, process capability indices, etc. Depending on your need, you'll also want to check out the more advanced features such as multi-variate analys (i.e., PLS and PCA).
How Much Does Six Sigma Software Cost?:
Depending on the functionality you need, Six Sigma Software can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. An number of the software packages are priced on a yearly licence fee, so you'll need to ensure you plan that into your software budget. You should also check to see how many users are able to use the software, particularly for the packages that are web-based.
